Delville Wood is hallowed ground - the resting place of
thousands South African troops who gave their lives in the cause of freedom. It
also contains the graves of an estimated five thousand British and German
soldiers who fought and died in the wood.

I apologise for the quality of these photographs that were taken
late afternoon on the 11th November 2008 as the light was fading and we had only
a short time in which to visit the wood.
