The Silver War Badge awarded to Gunner Charles George Thomas Barnes has sadly been lost - possibly in the bombing of 42 Chetwode Road. However, the War Badge certificate has survived and is shown here. 

This certificate and other papers relating to Charles' war-time service have been in the safe keeping of Charles' nephew Colin Barnes. Colin has kindly provided them for inclusion on the web site.
